This is a Super8 cine film taken in the 1970's of a powerboat race at Mindola Dam, Kitwe, Zambia.
I shared "Shoestring" with my friend Brian Bax. It had a 16' glass fibre hull with a 289 cu/in (4,750 cc) V8 engine from a Ford Thunderbird driving a two-stage Hamilton Jet. Look out for the boat with the white hull, blue top and eight stacks (exhaust pipes) sticking out the top
